the brigade is grateful to Bart from the herbal heart for he has offered to give us a *private* class on children's health at NO COST! please respond to bambinobrigade@gmail.com to let me know if you plan to come. I did this class last week and felt so empowered as a mom. It taught me essential herbs to have in the home, things I can use around the house, and ways to empower my child's own body to do what it is intended to do.

Please join us! It will be a great time of learning! Babies Welcome!

Hello Hikers!

We will be meeting at Percy Warner Park tomorrow at 9:30 AM.

Trails
Easy: none
Moderate: Warner Woods (white) (approximately 1 hour) - about 2.5 miles
Difficult: Mossy Ridge (red) (approximately 1 hour, 40 minutes) - about 4.5 miles (this trail is for the experienced hiker only)

From Old Hickory Blvd (come towards Bellevue from Brentwood), take a right onto Hwy 100. Go past the small pond until you come to the large rock entrance on the right (just before the railroad tracks that cross over the West Side Fitness Center). Follow the road to the right all the way back to the gravel parking lot where the trail heads are.

From Harding Place (West End) headed towards Bellevue, follow Hwy 100 (to the left). When you see the railroad tracks on the right, it will soon be right on the left. Follow the road to the right all the way back to the gravel parking lot where the trail heads are.

a note about older children

we want everyone to feel welcome and included in Bambino Brigade!

most of the members of BB nashville hike wearing their children. we have members that wear children up to 18 months (or around 25 pounds). you are more than welcome to join our group if you have older children, however it may take longer than estimated on our trail rankings. If not wearing children, we cannot guarantee that other members will be able to take the time needed to have older children walking the entire way.

our mission with the brigade is to be able to get exercise and be in community with other moms while having our children close to us. if you have recommendations about how we can better suite mothers with older children, please email your thoughts to bambinobrigade@gmail.com.

**we are currently planning a new hiking day specifically designed for walking children. this trail will be less than a mile and allow for those little feet to walk, explore, and get some fresh air while mamas participate in a community of support and friendship!**

Happy Hiking!

*new* day to hike

From here on out, we will have a schedule for trail options each week. We will have it broken down into “Easy,” “Moderate,” and “Difficult.” “Easy” trails will be for beginners and will allow any member to take their time. “Moderate” trails will be more intense and have a faster pace and be more of a challenge. “Difficult” trails will be intense, full-speed hikes with little to no stopping (unless little ones need to eat, obviously). As we all increase our stamina and ability, hopefully we will all be capable of “Difficult” hikes. That being said, we will always have the opportunity for new members (some that may have never hiked before) to be a part of our community! Never worry that you will be the only one on a certain trail. You will *ALWAYS* have someone with you.

This week – Wed, November 4, 9:30 AM
Easy
South Lake Trail (approximately 40 minutes) - about 1 mile

Moderate
South Cove, coming back South Lake Trail (approximately 1 hour) - about 2.1 miles

Difficult
South Cove, coming back back side of Ganier Ridge (approximately 1 hour, 15 minutes) - about 3.5 miles

Also, Lindsay and I will be hiking Percy Warner park trails on Thursdays. These are Moderate to Difficult trails (especially Mossy Ridge). You are welcome to come if you want a fast-paced, intense hike. We will be there around 9:45 AM. For directions, see our calendar!

Happy Hiking!
