it is getting hotter and hotter each week, so make sure to bring plenty of water. hats and sunscreen are great for the little ones. bug spray is essential, too, as there are bugs about!

hike at radnor lake (granny white side)
we now have multiple options for wednesday hikes.
*7:30 AM*
fast-paced, early morning hike.
to beat the heat, some mamas will be hiking at 7:30 AM. this will be a fast-paced hike, so come to book it up ganier, as south cove is still closed!
*9:30 AM*
we will still have our regularly scheduled 9:30 AM hike. we will also have the opportunity to bring along elder children starting this week! we will take it slow, but most likely take ganier ridge as far as they can handle.
weather predictor: 77 degrees, partly cloudy
many have been bringing snacks for their little ones (and self) to sit by the nature center at the end of our hikes to chat and allow the babies to play together some.
friday, june 4, 2010
9:30 AM
ellington agricultural center
meet at the iris garden, which is your first right after entering the gate - we will have a short hike, bring a snack, and we may get to see the horses!
weather predictor: mid 70s, partly cloudy
*reminders*
*window clings
if you are interested in helping support the brigade and get a window cling, please bring a donation ($4 +). some have given $4, some $10 or so. as soon as we have 30 people interested and committed, we will order them. if you bring money, please email so that we keep track of who gave what (so everyone that wants a cling gets one). we are on the honor system with this - this is our community group! we each have the responsibility to keep it going! if we cannot collect enough to order, your money will be returned.
window clings are great because you can easily remove them from your car, but actually are more expensive to make.
4" x 2", rectangular clear cling, white ink
* TBN
we have received about 10 profiles. as soon as we have 20 I will create a digital book that we can all have. I am going to re-post some information from last week, as I have not received much response:
we have something new we are going to begin - it's called *THE BRIGADE NETWORK*. This is going to be a great way for us to keep in contact beyond our hike, as well as get to know each other a little more. To be a part of TBN, please email questions to the following questions. I will compile a list and email that to the group members that want it. I will not post this to the site until we get a little more security going on here!
1. Name, childrens' names, email, phone number, area of town
2. What are your skills/ talents/ parts of yourself you really enjoy sharing with others?
3. Do you have a blog? Are you on other social networking sites (Facebook, etc.)?
4. Would you be willing to "baby-swap" (swap days for child-watching, not actually swap babies)?
5. A brief profile with anything else you would like to include.
6. Please send a picture (unless I already have one), so people can put faces with names a little easier.
If you choose not to participate in this, no worries; you can still hike with the group! this is simply to get us all doing more of what we love and getting deeper into this community we are coming to love more!
happy hiking!
