monday, august 9, 9 AM-11 AM
a few mamas with bambinos have been meeting on mondays at 9 AM for time at the zoo. this does require a membership or pay for admission, although if you let us know in advance, we should be able to get any nonmembers in with the multiple Members + Guest options. we meet at the gate at 9 AM and usually stay until about 11 AM. we do not usually bring lunch.

to beat the heat, some mamas will be hiking at 7:30 AM. the group is rather small and there's a chance you could be the only one. this will be a fast-paced hike. usually finished close to 9 AM.

we have multiple options for hikes. some take south lake trail for shorter legs, while others are trucking up ganier and coming back south lake. whatever your desire, most likely we will have someone going that hike. PLEASE BRING PLENTY OF WATER. this heat is really intense and your and your baby's safety is critical to me! usually finished around 11:30 AM. some meet for lunch after, so feel free to join.

**we are changing our meeting location, as we are outgrowing the parking lot at the iris garden. come up the hill from the iris garden entrance and park anywhere around the grounds up there. there are multiple parking options. we will meet by the garden, behind the museum. we will have a short hike, go see the horses and then eat lunch right by the fish pond (it's at the deck area). call if you get lost: 587-0630.

our rain policy is hike as long as there is no thunder or lightening!

due to the thunderstorms, that are set to go all day, our morning hike today is CANCELED. some may not get this email until tonight, as the emails do not go out until 9 PM, some let anyone know that you talk to. see you Monday at the zoo!

*wednesday hike*

Davidson County is in a Heat Advisory. That being said, the *9:30 AM hike for tomorrow is canceled.* a few families will be headed to the Adventure Science Center instead at 10 AM. see rates for admission, as members cannot bring guests. if you still want to hike, feel free, but note that we have been advise to stay indoors as the heat and air quality are not ideal for outdoor activity.

the weather advisory is over thursday, so we will be hiking friday.

*7:30 AM hike is still schedule. there will be another option for hikes at Percy Warner Park - Mossy Ridge. this is a 5+ mile hike and takes about 1.5 hours.* coming from nashville, head out hwy 100, towards bellevue. entrance is just past belle meade (railroad tracks near west side club) on the left. go all the way to the back and park in gravel lot.

we are growing! bambino brigade has so many options now for times to come hike and hang with your little ones. some are walking, some are yet to be born... please do not let where you are in ages with your bambinos stop you from coming to join us!

we have received about 10 profiles. as soon as we have 20 I will create a digital book that we can all have. I am going to re-post some information from last week, as I have not received much response:
we have something new we are going to begin - it's called *THE BRIGADE NETWORK*. This is going to be a great way for us to keep in contact beyond our hike, as well as get to know each other a little more. To be a part of TBN, please email questions to the following questions. I will compile a list and email that to the group members that want it. I will not post this to the site until we get a little more security going on here!

1. Name, childrens' names, email, phone number, area of town
2. What are your skills/ talents/ parts of yourself you really enjoy sharing with others?
3. Do you have a blog? Are you on other social networking sites (Facebook, etc.)?
4. Would you be willing to "baby-swap" (swap days for child-watching, not actually swap babies)?
5. A brief profile with anything else you would like to include.
6. Please send a picture (unless I already have one), so people can put faces with names a little easier.

If you choose not to participate in this, no worries; you can still hike with the group! this is simply to get us all doing more of what we love and getting deeper into this community we are coming to love more!
