wednesday & friday - july 28 & 30

wednesday, july 28
*7:30 AM*
fast-paced, early morning hike.
to beat the heat, some mamas will be hiking at 7:30 AM. the group is rather small and there's a chance you could be the only one. this will be a fast-paced hike.

*9:30 AM*
we have multiple options for hikes. some take south lake trail for shorter legs, while others are trucking up ganier and coming back south lake. whatever your desire, most likely we will have someone going that hike. please bring water and sunscreen and bug spray! it is hot and bugs are out!

friday, july 30
9:30 AM
ellington agricultural center
meet at the iris garden, which is your first right after entering the gate - we will have a short hike, we may get to see the horses, and eat some lunch! it is hot, so we may cut it shorter than hikes have been in the past!

our rain policy is hike as long as there is no thunder or lightening!

*window clings
window clings are IN! they look amazing. if you have already paid $5, I will get you one when I see you. otherwise, we are selling them for $5 right now!
5" x 3", rectangular clear cling, white ink

happy hiking!

* TBN
we have received about 10 profiles. as soon as we have 20 I will create a digital book that we can all have. I am going to re-post some information from last week, as I have not received much response:
we have something new we are going to begin - it's called *THE BRIGADE NETWORK*. This is going to be a great way for us to keep in contact beyond our hike, as well as get to know each other a little more. To be a part of TBN, please email questions to the following questions. I will compile a list and email that to the group members that want it. I will not post this to the site until we get a little more security going on here!

1. Name, childrens' names, email, phone number, area of town
2. What are your skills/ talents/ parts of yourself you really enjoy sharing with others?
3. Do you have a blog? Are you on other social networking sites (Facebook, etc.)?
4. Would you be willing to "baby-swap" (swap days for child-watching, not actually swap babies)?
5. A brief profile with anything else you would like to include.
6. Please send a picture (unless I already have one), so people can put faces with names a little easier.

If you choose not to participate in this, no worries; you can still hike with the group! this is simply to get us all doing more of what we love and getting deeper into this community we are coming to love more!

happy hiking!

HAPPY HIKING DAY, BAMBINO BRIGADE!

today is the anniversary of the first official hike of bambino brigade! one year of hiking, mamas, our sweet little ones and the amazing community WE have all created!

thank you for all the support and continued growth of our group!

blessings and HAPPY HIKING!

alternative birthing; alternative lifestyle

being a part of bambino brigade comes with perks. besides having our little ones with us while we enjoy each others company and hike, we get to be a part of an amazing community of mamas with a commitment to what some would call "not normal" ways of living.

organic.

cloth diapering.

nursing... in PUBLIC.

baby-led eating/ weaning.

baby-wearing.

although I would not I am weird, I can see - and finally admit - that I am not in the norm in some circles. I'm okay with that. I love who we are in BB and am grateful to all of you for being a part of this community.

here is an article that I was interviewed for. if you have articles or pieces that really speak to you, please send them along!

happy hiking!

wednesday & friday - july 7 & 9

many were out of town this past week, but many are back this week. I know I was off in North Carolina thinking of all of you as I hiked with our two little ones (with a blow horn and mace, in case we saw bear or other wild animals less desirable than the occasional rabbit or bird). I missed you all and am glad to be back. it is going to be a hot one this week, but that never stops us!
